Other: This was for a flashfiction challenge. It's been sitting in my wip box for ages because I kind of wanted to expand it, but, fuck it. Specifically, it was a "write a fic in 5 sentences" challenge, which might explain a few oddities about the format.
Not a breath not a word
Snow everywhere, a cold damp shock that sent Hannu’s eyes flying open; snow down his back and up his coat and sinking into his clothing as Joona pressed him down into it.
Joona, straddling him, grabbing at his throat, covering his nose and mouth, thick-gloved hands shoving him down into the loose snow and holding him flush against the frozen ground under it.
Hannu tried to shove him off, tried to squirm out from under him, but it was no good; he couldn’t push him off, and couldn’t breathe either, his lungs burning, his head feeling hot against the cold and the damp around him.
What was worse, Hannu realized, a scrap of thought slipping past as he tried to grab at Joona’s wrists and haul him away, was that he didn’t give a damn about his friend’s anger, or about taking back everything he’d said; all he cared about was that he liked this too much, that he wanted it, and he couldn’t let that show.
This is all your fucking fault, he thought, as he gasped against the fabric of the glove over his mouth and tried not to give in to the heat boiling up inside him.
