Of light
Never would have guessed
I'd miss
the glare of noon sunlight.
Absence makes it new
of interest for the moment
after slipping like a ghost into light.
Now I wait for demons
or God's messenger
it doesn't matter which.
Both can come
if they dare.
I miss nothing
from that cave-like dungeon
not the cadence of your voice
and the click of the wheel
your brilliant mind brightening the dark.
