A matter of business
Denmark's never been the best at negotiation.
Norway knows this. He listens to the two of them – rather, listens to Denmark talking. Watches Netherlands listening. Knows the calculations going on behind Netherlands' eyes.
Later that night, Norway goes to him. Presses open the door to his rooms. He's waiting there in the candlelight.
"If you give the help he's asking, I'll give what you're after."
Netherlands snorts. "What do you have that I would want?"
Norway squares his shoulders. Stands tall and straight as his trees, sturdy as trunks suited for foundations and masts.
"You know, I think."
He does.
