Legacy
She'd never met the young man that the British Museum sent to discuss the ship burial's donation. Still, Edith Pretty felt certain she had seen him somewhere before.
It itched in the back of her mind, a niggling thought. Surely she would remember such eyebrows.
"This is an unusual situation," he said, looking out toward the excavation. "I trust you have considered it carefully?"
"My good man!" She smiled. "There is no gift I'd more happily give to England."
"I... Yes. Thank you." His ears pinked at that; how odd.
"You're welcome, dear." Somehow, putting it that way felt right.
