Soft

Netherlands isn't the kind of guy you'd expect to be really gentle, Denmark thinks. Nobody would guess it from looking at him. Not at first glance.

Even Denmark knows this. It isn't hard to see how somebody would find him intimidating. Big and broad-shouldered, so tall that even Denmark has to lift his gaze a bit to look him in the eye. The kind of guy who'd go around with a stern expression on his face most of the time. Not that it's all that hard to get him to crack a smile - not compared to some. You just need to know the right buttons to push.

Denmark lingers in bed and watches while Netherlands says good night to his rabbit. The big guy seems even bigger in the dim lamplight, his face obscured and his body casting huge, dark shadows on the wall. Those long fingers stroke and stroke and stroke at the rabbit's head, and Denmark knows that it's a light touch, soft.

The words are too low, too quiet for Denmark to make out. But he can guess at them. Soppy stuff - to the extent that Netherlands is capable of being soppy, and that can be pretty damn soppy sometimes. When he hears the rest, a low, soft song, he can guess what it must be.

Most people might not think of Netherlands as the type of guy to sing lullabies to bunnies.

Most would be mistaken.

Netherlands rises, eventually. Slips into the washroom to wash his hands and rinse the styling wax out of his hair. It isn't long before he returns, turning off the lamp before slipping in bed next to Denmark.

Those long arms wrap around him, drawing him close with so much care that it makes Denmark feel like he could melt into him.

Most wouldn't expect Netherlands to be so gentle.

Most people don't know Netherlands the way Denmark knows him.
