"Wait –"
Denmark's broad hand stilled his own. Norway paused and looked at him, halfway through taking off his ring.
"What?"
"Leave it on."
Norway pressed his lips together. He'd thought the gift foolish; something a man would give his betrothed. Not suited for the two of them at all.
But Denmark insisted, and Norway gave in to shut him up. He wore the ring, and gave him one too – just to keep things even, he'd told him. That's all.
And now Denmark was insisting again.
A kiss to his hair. "Please." And to his cheek, and his neck, repeating the word like a prayer.
Norway swallowed, and settled the ring back in its place.
"Fine," he said, and let him have his way.
He fell back as Denmark eased him down. Let himself sprawl out and open to Denmark's hands and mouth and body, drowning in the kisses that rained down on him.
It was overwhelming –
Not the sensation of Denmark's mouth at his throat, or the way it felt to be full of him, but the way their fingers linked together.
The ring Denmark gave him was heavy on his hand.
Norway closed his eyes and gave in.
