Title: Words in the right places
Fandom: Hetalia
Characters/Pairing: Norway & Olav H. Hauge
Rating: 0+
Length: 100 words
Summary: I like how you use few words, few words and short sentences that drift in a fine rain down the page with light and air between.
Other: Olav H. Hauge was a Norwegian modernist poet (& my personal favourite). I think he and Norway would have got along. Prompt was "bloom"; written for the HWD drabble game. Summary/fic in general is reference to Hauge's poem "I See You've Learned".

Words in the right places

It is a long time since Norway has been to Ulvik.

He comes when the apple trees are in blossom and sunlight spills on the surface of the fjord.

Nothing calls him here.

Nothing pressing.

Nothing official.

Only words in the right places, and the person who put them there.

Norway touches his pocket and the letter inside it as he makes his way up to the farmhouse.

Hauge's reply to his request to meet was as short and sparse as his poetry. Norway knows they will say little.

They both like words best with light and air between them.
