Scary movies? No problem! Maybe.
The doorbell had stopped ringing an hour ago. It was late. America turned off the porch light and locked the door.
"We should put on a movie," he said, casting a grin over at his visitor. Norway had picked up the bowl with its last remaining candy and was sorting through it to see if there was anything good left.
"Oh?" Norway replied, not looking up. "That's what you folk do after the trick or treating thing, then?"
"Well, yeah, sometimes. Movies goes with the holiday, right?" He reached over and ruffled Norway's hair. "If it's something scary."
Norway made a face, batting away America's hand. "Fine - hold on, I thought you weren't too keen on scary movies."
"Me? Nah. I'm fine! Heroes aren't afraid of that stuff, y'know? But I can hold your hand if you get scared."
"Come off it."
"I'm serious!"
For a moment, Norway gave him a Look, like he didn't believe it. Then he gave a quiet, "We'll see," and handed over the candy bowl.
Later, when America was simultaneously clinging to Norway and trying to cover his eyes, he could practically feel him roll his eyes.
"What was that about not bein' afraid of scary movies?" Norway muttered, giving him a nudge.
"I just-"
"I could hold yer hand if you're scared, y'know."
"... Fine."
