Title: Boundary Lines

Summary: Some charting needs to be done. All it would take is a little time.
Other: Somewhat inspired by something I will write at a later date.
Boundary Lines
All I'd like to have
is thirty minutes with you.
Wouldn't be hard to get it.
Just shove them all out,
lock the door up tight
tell my pal and his buddy
to stay alert, keep watch,
yell if there's trouble.
We have business to take care of.
They won't suspect a thing.
Then finally we'd be
alone, face to face.
You're an apple in my hands
the kind too soft for cooking
best eaten fresh off
the tree you stole it from.
Not that I'd bother to
undress you with my mouth –
it'd gnaw away the seconds
and my hands are quicker.
Half an hour, that's all we'd get.
Have to make it count.
What we have is fragile
could break at any second
spill all over everything
and wouldn't that be a mess.
But you came out here,
made this journey
and that tells me
more than enough:
You're looking for adventure.
Risks won't hold you back.
When I look at you, I see
it's just a matter of time
before one of us opens that door
to give those words, make excuses
then shut it up tight
leave a sliver of time
to navigate with hands and mouths
seek new paths, explore new trails
chart each other out in maps
we'll carry with us for years.
