Those eyes widened when he came back.
Lalli didn't understand. The blood wasn't his own, any of it.
Words, hands, and then Emil was pushed aside for the moment. Decontamination.
It wasn't long before he was returned to Emil for washing.
The worry was there, and there was no need for it. Blood smudged and flecked on his face. Blood in his hair, sticking uncomfortable. But it wasn't his. And all the while, Emil kept talking.
Lalli sighed. Sucked at his teeth, endured the water and hands that anxiously checked him over. Let him.
It was Emil. It was fine.
