Not that you've asked
what I think,
but I'm saying
I heard you last night
even though you tried
to muffle it,
pressed your face to the pillow –
sorry, you weren't as quiet
as you thought.
You've come a long way
and I know you just want
to go home
but you'll get used to it –
this place isn't so bad.
In the meantime
remember
I've been where you are
and I know how you feel
so just trust me a little
while we're on this road together.
