I want to see the living dark
Cold air slinking grasping digging icy fingers into the lungs just zip up the coat and keep going anyway kicking up snow while running down this clear path fresh-fallen powder over foot-packed trail and up above nothing but endless blackness and bright moon and pinpricks of light not silent but with sound beyond human hearing run through this dark and leave behind voices and friends and the lights of the village going out one by one at this late hour until there's nothing else but the sky and the company of stars scattering gifts of far-away light on fresh-fallen snow.
