Don't speak,
don't think about it.
Don't think of its roaring
calling, calling
those noises out there in the dark.
Say it's the wind
the shifting of ice
the groaning of the ships
where they sit locked up tight.
Don't think about it
that white shape stalking
circling under endless black sky.
Don't think about it
but keep your eyes open
and your shotgun ready.
