White Sea Summer
Summer sun left the White Sea loose and free-flowing.
It wasn't easy to get to Vardø. But Norway managed it, making his way northward.
North, where the air was clear as could be, cities were nothing but a dream, and his partner in union didn't shadow him.
The ships from Arkhengelsk came in, sailing slick as seals.
Norway stepped outside, pulling on his gloves. Looked toward the harbour and saw that broad figure, huge as a polar bear, waving from a steamboat sitting fat in the water.
Calling out to Russia in their shared tongue, Norway went to greet him.
