Blaze
The bombardment came, and Denmark couldn't do a damn thing to stop it.
The sky was red, flames licking upward as more rockets fell. Spreading out over his city, his heart. Swallowing everything.
All of this over the ships in the harbour. And a few little promises.
Promises made to England's enemies, to be fair. But his requests had been damn unreasonable.
His hand shook as he signed the request for peace, gritting his teeth as he scratched it onto the paper. Four days, Denmark thought. That's all. Who would have thought.
But four days had been more than enough.

I really feel like I'm learning new things from reading your fics (in addition to being very moved) and that's one of my favourite things about historical Hetalia. You showed Denmark's struggle and his feeling of helplessness so well here, and also, your choice of prompts and the way you used them is really interesting. Keep up the good work~

Really glad to hear that the helplessness comes through here, and that it wasn't overwhelming. Finding a balance is difficult!
