Title: Blaze
Fandom: Hetalia
Characters/Pairing: Denmark (+ England)
Rating: 10+
Length: 100 words
Summary: Unreasonable, as far as he's concerned, but everything comes with a price.
Other: Set in 1807, second battle of Copenhagen*.Written for HWD drabble game. Prompts were "Red" and "Destroyed".
Blaze
The bombardment came, and Denmark couldn't do a damn thing to stop it.
The sky was red, flames licking upward as more rockets fell. Spreading out over his city, his heart. Swallowing everything.
All of this over the ships in the harbour. And a few little promises.
Promises made to England's enemies, to be fair. But his requests had been damn unreasonable.
His hand shook as he signed the request for peace, gritting his teeth as he scratched it onto the paper. Four days, Denmark thought. That's all. Who would have thought.
But four days had been more than enough.

Really glad to hear that the helplessness comes through here, and that it wasn't overwhelming. Finding a balance is difficult!
