South Italy swore under his breath, cupping frozen hands around a mug of coffee. His cheeks were pinched rosy from the wind.
Norway sank down across from him. Raised an eyebrow.
"You didn't tell me it'd be so fucking cold!"
"Y'came to Spitsbergen," Norway said slowly. "Svalbard. An' you didn't expect it to be cold?"
"It's May!"
"...Y'can borrow my mittens."
South Italy scoffed, then glared down at his coffee, looking like he'd rather be absolutely anywhere else.
Norway sighed, thinking of the airship lurking in its shed. Waiting.
Perhaps Amundsen's latest expedition wouldn't go as well as the last.
